“Creating a Circular Economy for Plastics to End the Plastic Pollution”

Objective
The Delegation of the European Union to Japan is hosting the “EU-Japan Seminar Series on Green Transition” with the objective of providing an opportunity to debate European environmental and climate change policies with the broader stakeholders of policymakers, business community and the civil society in Japan.

Specifically, the Seminar on "Creating a Circular Economy for Plastics to End the Plastic Pollution" aims to:

Inform the Japanese audience on the latest developments regarding the EU Strategy on Plastics such as the Single Use Plastics Directive and the EU policy framework on bio-based, biodegradable and compostable plastics;

Provide scientific data on the harmful impacts of plastics waste on the environment, climate, health and economy and the actions taken by EU and Japanese companies to tackle plastics waste.
